Company Profile:

Ferndale was founded by Joanna Round BSc (Hons). After growing up on a small-holding in rural Shropshire, Jo developed a keen interest in environmental land management. After successfully gaining an honours degree in Agriculture specialising in Environmental Science at Nottingham University Jo has worked in the countryside advising land managers on how to achieve sound environmental practice. Jo has been offering help and advice to farmers and landowners working within the Agri-Environment Sector for 7 years and helping them cope with the ever-increasing number of environmental matters that must be assessed alongside the crops, stock and the balance books!

Although mainly working with agricultural businesses, Ferndale Agri-Environment Services also completes various projects for local authorities and agencies along with Rural Land Surveyors.

Previously working with the Farming and Rural Conservation Agency, MAFF, DEFRA and the Rural Development Service we have gained a wide ranging experience of what potential schemes and grants are available to aid farmers and land managers in enhancing the environmental value of their holdings which in turn will increase their overall income. After working with the above organisations, we can appreciate the best way to present scheme applications to gain a successful result for the land manager or farmer.
